About this site

CarGene is an effort to unravel the genealogy of Japanese cars and to give car culture new momentum.

It goes beyond tracking model changes to cover the thinking of the engineers and the lineages of spirit that carry across generations. It gathers the fragments scattered across manufacturers' official information, books and past interviews, and organizes them clearly so that anyone can search and compare.
