A breath of fresh air for today

In developing the new Civic, Sato first considered what the Civic should be today. Looking back over its generations, he recalled the phrase "a breath of fresh air" said of the first Civic, words that described the Civic as a special car that brings a refreshing experience, not just a means of getting around. From research in many countries, he concluded that combining approachability with a sense of specialness would make a car that connects its owner pleasantly with society, and decided to make the new model a breath of fresh air for the times ahead.
