Mitsubishi FTO generations and chassis codes

Overview

A sports coupe. A younger sibling to the GTO, it was planned as a model for enjoying a sports car casually. Its design made heavy use of curves, unusual for Mitsubishi at the time, combining a long deck and a wide track with a short wheelbase. Every version was front-wheel drive, and overall width was 1,735 mm. It won the Japan Car of the Year award.
