What a Works built with today's technology looks like
The Alto Works engine is not a different unit from the Turbo RS; its character was changed through ECU tuning. The curve was shaped to extend the peak upward while also lifting the low end slightly, so that it pulls well when overtaking in fourth or fifth gear. The old Works did not make power unless you revved it to around 5000 to 7000 rpm, but this one also has thicker low-end torque, making it easier to drive. Yamamoto says it became the engine a Works would have if built with today's technology.
