A size that fits Japan just right

In the years since the first Legacy was born, the Legacy had opened up the touring-wagon market, but it had become a global car designed with overseas markets in mind and could no longer fully meet Japanese customers' needs. Aiming for the best size and cabin for Japan, Kumagai judged dimensions around those of the fourth-generation Legacy or the current Impreza to be just right for Japanese customers, and developed the car to be built thoroughly within that frame.
