Story

A lower floor and a higher roof allowed it to adopt sliding doors on both sides for the first time in the line's history.

More space, lower center of gravity

The fifth-generation Odyssey had to create the most spacious cabin in the series' history without losing the Odyssey's driving and looks. The target for headroom was on par with the large class, but raising the overall height would raise the center of gravity and hurt the driving. Nakagawa and his team rethought the platform from scratch, refined the underfloor layout to create an ultra-low-floor platform, and brought the second-row step height to about 30 cm while holding down the overall height.
