Overview

A genuine four-wheel-drive kei vehicle designed and developed after Suzuki bought the manufacturing rights to the Hopestar ON 4WD, a kei-standard vehicle of Hope Motor. Launched as a genuine four-wheel-drive vehicle within the kei car frame, it built the market for compact four-wheel-drive vehicles in Japan. It has since gone through model changes, growing in body size along with revisions of the standards. Its ladder frame, front-engine, rear-drive layout, part-time four-wheel drive with an auxiliary transmission and rigid-axle suspension have been carried on for half a century.
