The second small sports car of the S series, once built and sold by Honda, nicknamed Esu-Roku. It went on sale as a rear-drive two-seat open sports car following the S500, and a coupe was added, nominally for business use. Its water-cooled inline-four DOHC, enlarged to 606 cc, was an ultra-high-revving unit with its red zone starting at 9,500 rpm, equipped with four carburetors. It was also the first Asian-made four-wheeled vehicle exported to West Germany. Its successor, the S800, was announced later.
