Story

The Touring Wagon ended production, leaving two models, the Outback and the B4. Beyond functional progress, it refined the emotional value coming from design and quality.

Dropping the Touring Wagon, the face of the Legacy

The Touring Wagon was popular because trendsetters used it for leisure such as skiing. Future customers, now older, want to drive at an easy pace and enjoy themselves where they go. The Outback, with its greater multipurpose ability, suits that better. In the US the Touring Wagon had been dropped early in the previous generation, and in Japan there is also the Levorg. Uchida had the courage to drop the Touring Wagon and make the Outback's character stand out.
