Overview
The name derives from the English word integrate, chosen for a car integrating Honda's high technology into one. The Honda Quint Integra went on sale from Verno dealers nationwide. A full model change brought the Integra, and the XSi and RSi carried a newly developed DOHC VTEC engine with the world's first variable valve timing and lift mechanism for a production car engine. The TYPE R was later added to the Integra series.
