With neither high expectations nor a big budget

For the full model change from the S14 to the S15, neither Nissan's expectations nor the budget provided were large. The platform carried over from the S13 era and the engine from the late S14 era, both improved, and only the styling was new. Within that, Otake aimed for a car that turns as pleasantly as in mogul skiing. One of the secret weapons was the "Sports Tuned Body" used on the turbo models, with reinforcement in three places on the floor to raise rigidity.
