Let me do just the study

In his thirties, Ogiso kept saying he wanted to work in product planning. At the Higashi-Fuji research center, the G21 project, which explored what a high-volume compact sedan for the 21st century should be, was first to have an advanced development department sort out the technologies. Ogiso volunteered to join even if only for the study, and after the three-month study he stayed on even when a formal team was set up in product planning with Takeshi Uchiyamada as its chief.

Driving with the meters printed on paper

Ogiso wanted the 3.5-inch LCD display in the Aqua's instrument panel to look clean and neat. Just asking the supplier's designers did not produce the screens he had in mind, so he did layouts himself, decided the background had to be black, and got hold of the screen data to rework it. He printed several screens on paper at actual size, stuck them on the instrument panel of his own car, and checked how they looked while driving.
